Cubs
What an Amazing Year the Cubs have had!
Over the last year the cubs have done a mixture of badges, Road Safety, Home help (which the parents thoroughly enjoyed as the children had to keep their bedroom’s tidy) Fire safety, First Aid, Digital Citizen, Athletics and Gardening, to name a few..
We’ve also had some guests visit us
-
Jack from the charity Lives not knives
-
Brian from Karate at St Augustine’s
-
David from St Augustine’s Church with his singing skills for our church parade songs and the entertainment badge.
In December the Cubs helped out Nightwatch, a charity that feeds the homeless. The Cubs made 118 Sandwiches, a great achievement, a very worthwhile cause.
This year we held our first Cub Christmas Concert in a long time. the children enjoyed performing their songs and entertaining their parents.
The Cubs and Beavers had a joint winter Camp at Bears wood. We stayed in the indoor accommodation and even had our own resident chef for the weekend. The children enjoyed all the onsite activities; including the trim trail, zip line, minefield and obviously a campfire with Marshmallows and VERY loud singing.
We are now looking forward to our next Cub camp at Cudham Shaws in July. This is an outdoor tented camp with many activities for the children - Cave Bus, Tomahawk throwing to name a few.
